The Management Review Problem: Book a Demo
Management review, quality review and design review meetings are where quality decisions are made and where auditors look for proof that leadership is engaged. The meeting itself is rarely the challenge. Keeping a complete, controlled record of it is.
- ❌ Agendas, attendee lists and minutes live in calendar invitations, email threads and slide decks, so the record of a review is scattered across tools.
- ❌ Action items agreed in one review are tracked in a separate spreadsheet, and nobody can see them at the start of the next review.
- ❌ Attendance is recorded differently from meeting to meeting, which makes it hard to show who took part in which decision.
- ❌ Management review inputs are collected by hand from audits, corrective actions, risks and changes that sit in different systems.
- ❌ Signed minutes can still be edited later, which weakens their value as evidence.
The eLeaP Solution:
- ✅ One register of formal meetings, each with a reference number, type, status and attendee count, searchable and filterable in seconds.
- ✅ A defined lifecycle from Scheduled to Held to Signed Off, so a finished review becomes a locked record.
- ✅ Attendance statuses you configure once, with each status reporting as present or not present in a consistent way.
- ✅ Management review inputs live in the same platform as your audits, CAPA, risk, change control and training, so the evidence behind the discussion is one step away.
- ✅ Opening and closing meetings for audits recorded with agenda, attendees, notes and agreed observations, in line with ISO 19011.
Give every quality meeting a controlled home. eLeaP Meetings records management reviews, quality reviews, design reviews and audit meetings in the same system that holds the quality data they discuss. → Talk to an Expert or start a free trial.
Management Reviews and Quality Meetings, Recorded and Signed Off
Top management review is a requirement of ISO 13485 clause 5.6, ISO 9001 clause 9.3, AS9100 and IATF 16949. Because the FDA’s Quality Management System Regulation incorporates ISO 13485:2016, medical device manufacturers carry the same expectation in the United States. The standards ask for planned reviews at defined intervals, documented inputs, documented outputs and retained records.
eLeaP Meetings sits under the Events module and gives your team one place to schedule, run and sign off formal meetings. Each meeting carries its type, date, location, chairperson, attendees and status, so the record of every review is complete, searchable and ready when an auditor asks how management oversees the quality system.
Key Features
-
Meeting Register
See every formal meeting in one list with its MTG reference number, a meeting type badge, a status badge and an attendee count. Filter by type, status or the person who added the meeting, and edit or delete from the row menu while the meeting is still open.
-
Meeting Types You Control
Start with Management Review, Quality Review, Design Review, Opening Meeting and Closing Meeting. Add your own types, such as a supplier review, a material review board or a site quality council, under Settings, or create a type on the spot while adding a meeting.
-
Complete Meeting Details
Capture the meeting title, type, date, location and chairperson. Set a next review date for recurring reviews, and link the meeting to a related audit when the discussion belongs to one.
-
Scheduled, Held, Signed Off
Each meeting moves through a clear lifecycle. A signed-off meeting is a closed record, and the API treats it that way too, allowing edits and deletions only on meetings that are not signed off.
-
Consistent Attendance
Attendance statuses start as Invited, Attended and Excused, and each one reports as present or not present. Only statuses that report as Attended count toward the attendee count, so the numbers mean the same thing in every meeting.
-
Agenda, Actions, Minutes and Decisions
Every meeting has Agenda, Attendees, Actions, Minutes and History tabs. Record what was discussed and what was agreed, give each action an owner, a due date and a priority, and tag it with the ISO 9.3.3 management review output it delivers.
-
Related Items on Every Meeting
Attach related items to a meeting from the same record, so the documents and evidence discussed in the review stay with it.
-
Audit Opening and Closing Meetings
On every audit, record the opening and closing meetings in line with ISO 19011 clause 6.4: numbered agenda items, attendees with role and department, notes, agreed observations and supporting evidence attached through Related Items.
-
Open to Your Reporting Tools
Read meetings, including attendees, agenda, action items, minutes and decisions, through the eLeaP API with an integration that has meetings read access. Add write access to schedule meetings from another system.
What a Management Review Draws On
Management review is most useful when the discussion starts from current facts. The inputs your standards describe already live in eLeaP modules, so the evidence for a review is collected from one platform. The table shows where each common input lives. Your procedures define the exact inputs and outputs your organization reviews.
| Typical review input | Where it lives in eLeaP |
|---|---|
| Results of audits | Audit management: audit scores, findings and their closure status. |
| Nonconformities, corrective and preventive actions | Events and CAPA: investigations, actions and effectiveness checks. |
| Risks and opportunities | Risk management: the risk acceptability matrix and linked control measures. |
| Changes that could affect the quality system | Change control: change requests and change orders across the organization. |
| Supplier performance and approval status | Supplier management: approval status, risk level, renewals and supplier audits. |
| Design and development status | Design controls: items not yet verified or validated and design review progress. |
| Training and competence | Training management: assignments, completions and records. |
| Follow-up from previous reviews | The action items recorded with earlier meetings. |
What You Get with eLeaP Meetings
-
One Record per Meeting
Every meeting has its own reference number, so a review can be cited in a CAPA, a procedure or an audit response by a number that never changes.
-
Design Reviews and Management Reviews Together
Meeting types let you keep management review, quality review and design review records in one register while still filtering to exactly the kind of meeting you need.
-
Recurring Reviews Made Visible
Record the next review date on each meeting, so the schedule for periodic reviews is part of the record rather than a reminder in someone’s calendar.
-
Roles and Access You Already Use
Meetings follow the same roles and permissions as the rest of the platform, with every action captured in the audit trail.
-
Audit Meetings in the Audit Record
Opening and closing meeting records stay on the audit they belong to, next to its findings, team and phases, with a complete summary of who attended and what was agreed.
Why Select eLeaP Quality?
Meetings are most valuable when they connect to the data they discuss. eLeaP brings document control, risk, events, audits, suppliers, change control and Learning Management into one platform, so the records behind a review are already in the same system as the review itself.

Meetings FAQs
-
Does eLeaP support management review requirements?
eLeaP provides the record for them: a Management Review meeting type, attendance, agenda, actions, minutes, decisions and a sign-off status. The standards, including ISO 13485 clause 5.6, ISO 9001 clause 9.3, AS9100 and IATF 16949, describe the inputs and outputs of the review, and your procedures define how your organization meets them.
-
Which meeting types are included?
Management Review, Quality Review, Design Review, Opening Meeting and Closing Meeting. You can add your own types under Settings, or create one while adding a meeting.
-
What are the meeting statuses?
Scheduled, Held and Signed Off. Meetings that are signed off cannot be edited or deleted through the API, and the register shows each meeting’s status at a glance.
-
How does attendance work?
Attendance statuses default to Invited, Attended and Excused. Each status reports as present or not present, and only statuses that report as Attended count toward the attendee count. You can change or add statuses under Settings.
-
How are audit opening and closing meetings handled?
They are recorded on the audit’s Meetings tab, in line with ISO 19011 clause 6.4, with a numbered agenda, attendees with role and department, notes, agreed observations and evidence attached through Related Items. See audit management.
